Equality
Equality is the idea that all people should be treated fairly and have the same opportunities and rights.
What does Equality mean in practice?
Reasonable adjustments:
-
People who are disabled or have other needs should be able to participate and others should make reasonable adjustments to help them
-
Equal opportunities: Everyone should have the same opportunities to achieve their goals
-
Fair treatment: People should be treated fairly and with respect
-
Elimination of discrimination: People should not be treated differently or discriminated against because of their personal characteristics
We acknowledge that systemic and institutional racism exists within our society, and recognise our duty to actively combat it internally and externally within the communities and people that we work with.
We are committed to creating safe, welcoming and equitable spaces for all members of our community, regardless of race, gender, disability, age, or class.
To achieve this we will keep developing our practice, embedding our values and behaviours into what we do and how we do it.
